Pimpety pimp! :)

[livejournal.com profile] beer_good_foamy has *excellent* meta on 'Buffy Vs Dracula' (the ep, the show and vampires in general - plus a couple of notes on the comic).

I presume most people have read this interview with Joss? If I had time I'd pull out bits & pieces, but suffice to say that it confirms everything I feel re. s8!

And via [livejournal.com profile] selenak a couple of fic recs:

Last One Out. Really, really excellent Torchwood fic, looking at what the future might hold for the team. Painful, but very rewarding to read! Three chapters, complete. Spoilers up to (and including) 'A Day in the Death'. ETA: It's by [livejournal.com profile] joonscribble if you'd rather go to her LJ. :)

Pockets by [livejournal.com profile] meddow. A Donna-centric ficlet that is truly wonderful. Very simple premise, and yet it reminded me of all the reasons I love The Doctor! *pines*

(There might have been more, but I've forgotten it and also I have to run! See you later!)

ETA: For Torchwood fans: There is a new comm on the block: [livejournal.com profile] our_torchwood is for enjoying, discussing and mocking (because we *love*) our show. Bashing not allowed! See this post. It explains why Torchwood is like sushi. (No spoilers!) :)

*reads interview with Joss*

Well, then.

*dusts hands briskly*

Let's move on, shall we?

Jack is very pretty. Wish I got the BBC. I can read recaps online, but it's not the same, yo.

I haven't been able to listen to Joss or anyone talk about the show since the commentary for Chosen. Just drove me up the wall and he hasn't stopped since.

[identity profile] mikeygs.livejournal.com 2008-03-11 06:39 pm (UTC)(link)

Eh, it wasn't so much his commentary on the show, per se, just I thought his attitude toward the show in the last year was kind of dismissive, particularly in regards to the other writers. "If I had been showrunner..." Blah, blah. Well, you weren't, Joss. Then of course there was the ambiguous Buffy Basement Scene being done out of respect for the fans just irked me, like it was some artistic choice rather than just being too chicken to write it one way or the other. And other things

Doesn't bug me as much as it did before, but yeah, better the Bverse begins and ends on the television for me.

Oh my god. That Torchwood fic? Really?

I don't read a great deal of fanfic, quite deliberately. That was genuinely brilliant writing.

I teared up a bit early in chapter two, and made a mental note to comment on it. Add some incredibly talented storytelling to that excellent characterisation, and I had to pause several times through chapter three to stop out-and-out bawling. Such a way to wrap it up and tie it together!

Brilliant. Really. Thank you for the link.

And if that ever happens in canon, I'll kick the asses of everyone involved.

Hey, Elisi!

I know less than nothing about Torchwood, but I did want to poke my head in and say hi. I finally posted something in my LJ after all these months. I hope everything is going beautifully for you.
