sparky77 has a truly stunning little 'Adam'-centric TW fic: We All Fall Down. Go read, even if you didn't like the episode!
ETA: Review of 'season 8' by The Harvard Independent, that echoes my thoughts pretty much exactly. (Except for the ending. Fanfic fills the craving far better.)
