What a lovely episode. And not just because of the local lad (which he was, trust me! I hear that accent every day). It balanced hope and built-in angst perfectly, and all the characters were *just* right. *squishes show*
Tommy was sweet, but the plot holes made it hard to take it seriously. Just how did TW1918 know enough to write all those pages of instructions? And why did they abandon Tommy to his fate once he had returned -
which they actually saw him do
?
It was fun, but I just wish for a touch more coherence. This show has so much potential and so often just misses.
The Radio Times guy thought it was much better than the "gaudiness" of the last two episodes though. Personally, I'll take all teh gaudy Captain John I can get!
I thought it was a lovely episode, too. I'm sure I could see plenty of plot holes if I wanted to look for them, but I just enjoyed the story that was told. Really loved Tommy. And I'm even liking Owen this season!
I'm gonna have to d/l this episode too aren't I? I wasn't gonna do that! I didn't d/l last year; just waited until I show up on BBCA. This year I was gonna d/l just the Spike JM episode... Then the previews for the second one looked good too...
Oh, there's definitely an interest in Tosh there! I have an awful feeling it will all end in tears, though (and that's from an unspoiled perspective).
Oh yes, a love interest really does help make a show more interesting...but then again I'm a soppy old romantic at heart. :) I'm not usually much of Jack/Ianto shipper, but I thought the moment between Jack and Ianto was nice, too.
Tommy was sweet, but the plot holes made it hard to take it seriously. A classic case of 'these things happen when you're on a Hellmouth Rift.
This show has so much potential and so often just misses. Well it is getting a lot more stuff right this time, so I'm counting my blessings. *g* And RTD isn't brilliant on logic even at the best of times.
Personally, I'll take all teh gaudy Captain John I can get! Heh. I *adored* KKBB, but I also really, really liked the quiet character moments of this. (I'm easy to please!)

just waited until I show up on BBCA. Well isn't BBCA just a week behind the UK? Anyway, this was an adorable ep - lots of quiet character stuff. (The plot was a little flimsy, but hey-ho, can't have everything.)
I just wanted to hug Tosh ... and wasn't Owen lovely ... I am really getting to adore those 2 Same here. And it's being handled *beautifully*. I'm impressed.
The icon is by indiexicons and very sharable. (So thrilled I finally got to see where the kiss came from, and I like it even more now. Although I think they probably lingered too long on screen.)
