Actually - I've worked it out. As in what's my problem with the Dawn-story. It's the fact that (so far at least) it seems wholly unconnected to the larger plot. Of course it might turn out that Kenny is General Voll's son or something and tie in beautifully (like the Faith-arc is doing).

Take Dawn away from s8, and would anything be different (except Amy wouldn't be trodden on)?
