If you love Spike, watch this vid!

I was skimming through my flist yesterday, and noticed yourlibrarian had a vid rec (she has excellent taste - if you're looking for vids, check out her posts!). Will just copy and paste what she wrote since she sums things up pretty perfectly:

"Since I enjoy vids and I've been in the Whedonverse fandom for a while, I've happened to see rather a lot of Spike and Buffy/Spike vids at this point. And there've been a lot of terrific ones made, but I confess to a bit of fatigue with them. However as proof positive that there's never a point where everything's been said I want to point to charmax's new vid Still Breathing, which I think puts a pretty good spin on Spike's story."

It truly is a very, very, very good vid - great choice of clips and wonderful intercutting, linking together themes I hadn't previously considered and throwing new light on Spike (I love vids that are full of meta).

yourlibrarian had some excellent comments in her post, but I recommend watching the vid first!

More than anything, I love stuff that makes me think - and as a consequence makes me want to write. *runs back to WIP full of enthusiasm*

(Oh and I'll post some s8/s6 comic-book thoughts in a moment, presuming the sleeping children don't wake up...)

It's a fabulous vid, isn't it. I watched it last night and it made me very emotional - it is very possible that I may have shouted "I LOVE YOU SPIKE!" at the screen at one point... ;) - though it could have been just that it was 2 a.m. and I'd had a very long day :)

And the comic is out already? I thought it wasn't until next week.

I have tried to download it but as I am still on dial-up it take asges and then has cut out just before finishing the download ... twice. But i shall try again this eve ..promise!! It is ages since I have seen a new video, so will persevere.

You know, that said - if you haven't seen AtS some of it might not be easy to 'get'... Bascially you should watch all of AtS! As soon as humanly possible! (It's not as consistently good as Buffy, but when it's on a roll it can outshine its parent show!)

Yes - I had someone else who said similar to me last week - oh well I have a B'day coming up and my brothers never know what to get for me - so I might point them that way (Don't think my parents would agree - they thought I was mad travelling to London and then to Milton Keynes to meet James!)

Do! It's definitely worth it! :) (I have all of Buffy on DVD now, but only S5 of AtS - the rest I only got on video, recorded off the telly...)

Thats how I got into Buffy - had to record a couple of episodes of season 6 (You see I am a late starter!) for a friend ... and as I then ended up wanting to know what she was watching I then started recording them ... but now have all 7 on well watched DVDs!!
