Birthday! :)
Happy Birthday to
frimfram! *waves pompoms*
If you're not familiar with this awesome lady, then you need to know that she writes fic so gorgeous that it makes baby Jesus laugh. I will especially recommend 'Half The Pieces', 'Mouthing Off', 'On The Rocks' and 'The Third Wheel Monologue'.
And since I'm here anyway I'll dump a whole load of links on y'all:
rahirah wrote B/A smut! Teh internets, fandom and the world as we know it will implode! (But it's really, really good, so go read!)
And then (because they had a deal)
tkp wrote Spuffy smut. Also excellent! :)
And then re. the whole S8 preview stuff
beer_good_foamy made some of the funniest icons I have ever, ever seen. Unless you're a *complete* spoiler phobe go have a look. Even if you don't read the comics go have a look. You will be cheered. Also beware of any liquids that might be near the screen or keyboard!
Oh and finally, just in case none of that worked, here is The Doctor and kittens. This is like the cutest thing *ever*.
(And no I didn't write a single word today. Partly I was busy, and partly my muse is sulking. *kicks muse*)
ETA: How could I forget?
tkp posted chapter 3 of Man's Best Friend! If you're not reading this fic, you'd better have a very good reason!
ETA2: Beautiful, beautiful (s8) sketches of Spike and Angel. Why can't the comics be this pretty all the time?

*Muse kicks you back, then goes off to have the hot sex with Spike*
(Unless you were writing epic rather than erotica, in which case Calliope hits you with a big axe)

And yes, it's more epic than smut... (I'm 13000 words in and have just got past the beginning. I have most of it worked out in my head, but there are parts that are fuzzy and I'm stuck in the middle of one.)

When I get writer's block (I'm talking more about writing at work that fic-writing here) my usual approach is to just start writing down whatever comes into my head that's vaguely on-topic, and not bother about complete sentences or grammar or coherence at all. Eventually, hopefully, I get back into the flow and start writing properly again, at which point I can go back and redo the rough patch. If it doesn't work, then it's more a case of reading through the rough notes, crossing out the most irrelevant bits, adding in words like "and" and "the" to make complete sentences, and then publish it while crossing my fingers nobody reads it too critically. :)

Hee! Although that's what beta readers are for. I don't know what I'd do without mine, she is wonderful for pointing out when something doesn't work and what might be done about it! :)

I'm thinking there should be Doctor and kitten fic. I'm thinking it could get up to so much gosh darn mischief on the TARDIS and the year three billion. I'm thinking it should meet those cat people.
I'm thinking I should back away slowly.

Heh. I think you should just go for it! *g*
Oh and I love pimping. Or it might be that I just can't shut up.

Those were pretty sketches by the artist, that Dawn looks so good. She doesn't look that good in the comics. Maybe because it's easier to capture characters with a pencil, I know most of my sketches of people back in the day when I used to draw were a lot better in pencil than when I try to add colors.
I know it's wistful but I always wish that the artist who does the covers does the drawing of the inside, but I think that takes a lot of work and effort, and maybe we'll get a new issue every year, which will suck. I do hate when comic artists photoshop the actors' promo pics, I get distracted guessing which photo they copied.
All and all, I wish the artist tries more, especially with Buffy and Xander. I'm okay with all the characters' drawing, even Andrew. But Buffy and Xander doesn't look at all like themselves. Although I did love the last pic of Buffy in #4 where she was standing with Xander, she looked like Buffy.

Oh my pleasure! And I *had* to share those icons. Too fabulous!

*nods* Most of the sketches are much nicer than the finished images, which is a great shame. ::sigh::

Indeed. She's incredible - but then she does actual paintings rather than drawings.
But Buffy and Xander doesn't look at all like themselves.
I'd add Giles and Dawn to that list, at least. Anyway, we're stuck with what we've got - and there's always fic! :)

Hope all's well with you, and that the fandom intifada isn't getting you down too much.

And yes, things are fine. I'm annoyed that someone I don't even know has made two of my good friends part ways, but such is life. (More immediately worrying is the fact that my muse appears to have gone missing. Must try to continue without her I suppose...)
