Fanfic appreciation

I've been thinking about this, and like many others I know that if I tried to compile a thorough list, I would inevitably leave someone out. So instead I'm just going to rec the first authors I ever read - those that hooked me on fanfic so thoroughly that I doubt I'll ever be able to give up. Which fits rather well with my first two choices. So, since I never got round to posting yesterday, I'll do two this time round:

[livejournal.com profile] kallysten. Her site Divagations has all of her stuff, but the fic that made time disappear was her 'Childe & Sire' saga. I don't normally like Vamp!Buffy fics, but this one just works for me.

And then there's Kimi - or [livejournal.com profile] nashvillain615. I adore (nearly) every single thing she's written and if there's anyone out there who's not familiar with her work, they should go here and remedy that asap! My favourite stories are probably her post-Showtime fics Healing (Buffy's POV) and gnilaeH (Spike's POV). I swear this is canon! Read them NOW!

(Oh, and look at my lovely icon, made by the talented [livejournal.com profile] killmebecomeme!)

Good choices! I don't really care much for the 'Childe & Sire' series myself, but I absolutely love the 'Bloody Soul' stories. I think it's the most believable rewrite of the show I've ever seen.

And while I really do love Kimi's stories, I was extremely disappointed in her for "Seven Minutes". Xander is completely out of character and it's obvious that it's really nothing more than an Author Issues Fic. *shakes head sadly* Everything else she's written is excellent, though.
