the books tell the whole story, and the first (ONLY!) season tell the story of the first two books. It is pretty self-contained and so good, but it could have been so much more with a little support of Netflix.

I will never understand how Netflix functions. Am still sad about Shadow and Bone. :(

The whole of the Dead Boy Detectives fandom is fervently praying that the show is renewed, because they know what Netflix is like.

ETA: every time on DBD that someone comments negatively about Monty being a Crow, I have to do a complicated mental flip to remind myself why this is a bad thing.

Shadow and Bone got much better in the second season! It got its footing, and then got the cancellation for the stupidest pretext. I can't with them... (Me is sad)

At least the Umbrella Academy got a chance for a proper finish...

They finally got up to the Ice Court Heist, the thing literally the entire fandom was waiting for with baited breath, and then Netflix went ' . . . naaaaahhh.'

I'm pretty sure that's the legal definition of hating your viewers.

They're honestly the worst and should not be trusted with anything nice. But DBD at least is a very satisfying and complete season in itself if it never gets another.

Being in a current fandom for anything is such a desperate and brave thing to do. There is no hope, there is no excitement, there is just a dream, so we grab and cherish the tings we love as long as we can.

Might be one reason I love Doctor Who. It just... carries on. And there is more content out there than any person can ever consume in a life-time.
