For anyone who is interested in setting up a Mastodon, here is a handy quick guide:

It'll set you up on mastodon.social to begin with, but you can always move if you find a different server you like more.

I've been on Mastodon since November and it's nice. Please ask me any questions, although here is a useful guide (don't be put off by the 'for developers' thing, it's v straightforward).

I'm liking Mastodon as well, though there are people I used to follow on Twitter I miss. But once my 3rd party app stopped working, there was no way I was subjecting myself to the wider mob that it has become.

I've been musing about getting a Mastodon account, though it has been yonks since I've been on Twitter anyway. SO glad I jumped ship before that ass took over. >:(

Yeah, I went through all my favourites on Twitter before I left and checked if they were on Mastodon. Some were, some weren't... But I cut my losses. Like you, I didn't want to hang out there any longer.

If you have any suggestions for improvement lmk and I'll share it with the developers.
Mostly just a way to have more than one instance to choose from (like an easy way to find one that aligns with one's interests), but I believe that is coming, so I'll just send encouragement their way.
