Happy New Year!

Happy 2023 everyone! May it be measurably better than 2022.

And here is a photo of our Christmas tree, since - as a Scandinavian - we have A Real Tree with Real Candles. We light them on Christmas Eve and then again on New Year's Eve (just before midnight).

Gorgeous - I love real candles. I remember when we lived in Norway you could get candles and automatic gadgets that snap down and snuff out the candle when it gets too low. I’ve never seen them since!

Real candles are the best! (Although we also have multi-coloured fairy lights on the tree for 'everyday' use.)

I remember when we lived in Norway you could get candles and automatic gadgets that snap down and snuff out the candle when it gets too low. I’ve never seen them since!
Never heard of those. What people tend to use is candles that extinguish automatically when they get low. (Something chemical on the wick that stops the fire. V simple, but effective.)
