Lockdown Update Day 110

Two more 4th of July things, because my TL was full of it. First this, which legit gave me chills:

Then this, which is one of the sweetest, most wonderful stories I have ever read. (Go onto Twitter and read the whole thing.)

And finally, more 'local' art. 'Summer Breeze' by Moy Mackay, Scottish textile artist known for her “felt painting” (x):

The picture is so much like my late friend Anne's needle felt pictures of her area in Cornwall, her visits to Scotland, and the mountains around the world that she loved to climb. How odd that I posted a picture of her making such a picture in [livejournal.com profile] photo_scavenger last week.

She was - I have watched her turn a selection of bits of hand dyed fleece into a perfect little view of Skye as a birthday card in only a couple of hours.

She used to say that it was an art form that would easily travel, as they went all over in a camper van from mountain to mountain.

Sadly, about three years ago, she was killed in a freak climbing accident in the Alps.
