We saw it in the cinema... *nostalgic sigh* The Cherub was only little (well, 8) and was dressed as Amelia, Impish Girl was dressed as Eleven, fez and all!

I remember watching those early episodes from behind the sofa. We didn't have a TV but we used to often go to friends who did. So, yes, the classic case of hiding from the Daleks.
