Quick update on the dinner party!

Dinner party.... I nearly wore pearls, but [livejournal.com profile] scarlettgirl suggested that this might draw attention to my neck and remind Angel of his bad old days...

I never saw Buffy as the hostess type, but I guess I should have remembered ‘Pangs’ and how utterly focussed she was on that Thanksgiving Dinner. Multiply by 100 and you’ll get the idea! Angel was mostly quiet - he and Oz sort of nodded to each other and he actually had something resembling a conversation with Wood. Faith and Sam were surprisingly friendly, and Xander and Riley did that buddy-thing that american males seem to be so good at. The ‘girls’ that had been invited for Xander’s sake turned out to be Nina and Nancy... didn’t really work out very well. Nina was lovely though, although she kept looking at Angel rather strangely. Which left me with Willow and Buffy. They’re both lovely, but I think they’re taken this whole tv-show thing far too seriously. I asked Buffy if she still patrolled, and she looked at me like I was insane. “This is Sea Haven. There are no monsters! That’s why we moved here! So we could have a nice, quiet, normal life, without apocalypses and fighting and all that - that stuff!” She sounded almost as though she was trying to convince herself more than me... the only scary thing of the evening was Willow - she seemed well on the way to turning into her mother. I tried to talk to Oz, but he was contemplating the moon and uncommunicative.

Now my husband got on rather well with Angel - they started talking about philosophy! You don’t want to know - believe me! *sigh*

There were a lot of deep meaningful looks between the main stars, but apart from the thinly veiled hostility from some members of the party, everything went without a hitch! And this might be a problem... listening to some of the crew talking, I found out some juicy gossip... oh - have to run. Children need putting to bed. Will report back later! Sh!

Next part.
