Late reply is late! Although in my defense we went to Wales for a holiday and I had no internet. :)
These days, I usually refer to Catherine Tate as CT. I got to learn more about Sarah Parish through her guest appearance on Merlin and any other TV role she did with David Tennant. Fandom is very educational!
I just need to catch up in the right order. I miss having cable TV.:( Mmmm. Why can't TV be free? /rhetorical question
I felt bad for Ryan being physically assaulted. It echoes Martha's experience, while being a maid. Except hers was verbal. It would be one reason he'd want to go home. *nods* Although at least they didn't try to whitewash it, or pretend things were fine in the past. As you say, it helps with his decision - also it could spur him onto do more himself, looking at BLM etc. It's good when the companions leave because they want to try to change the world they live in.
The companions leaving in a low-key manner like in the old series was gladly welcomed. There were enough "death's"(Rory or Clara), non-death's (Bill) or whatever you want to call it in the Moffat era. RTD too - Rose & Donna both 'died'. Here's to companions who leave because they don't want to travel forever! :)
