He DOES. Tons of good Torchwood stuff, Broadchurch which is generally lauded as pretty good (I haven't seen it, so can't vouch for it, but I believe that it's good) and just... none of it has translated to showrunning. I wasn't expecting particular greatness, I just wanted something decent. So here's to hoping that a serialised story will be better than all the standalone stuff.
