Year 2 of Lockdown, Day 87

Came across this on Tumblr, and found it very interesting:

Our relationship with food
Blurb: "I used to be vegan and anyone who is vegan or cares about factory farming, colonization, or why veganism is not the way to go (and why locally sourced foods are the way to go) should watch this video <3"

Which ties in with this article I came across:

Vox: Indigenous people are the world’s biggest conservationists, but they rarely get credit for it
More than 30 percent of the Earth is already conserved. Thank Indigenous people and local communities.

~~

And I literally can't make my mind up which Dimash song to post, so have this delightful reaction video instead:

ETA: OK, found a song.

Daily Dimash: AMANAT

'Amanat' is a composition from the last album of the same name by Batyrkhan Shukenov. It's about love of his homeland ('Your eternal duty to the motherland/Whether you managed to fulfill it?'), and Dimash too is an ardent ambassador for Kazakhstan, which fits very well with this post's theme of conservation & living in harmony with the land. (Make sure to turn on closed captions.) Also it is just... beautiful. Nothing flashy, just a man sitting on a stage as beautiful as the song, singing.

Note from a Dear: "Amanat" - the word means the will, the will of the ancestors. There is a saying: "Do not break the covenant of your ancestors" This is what this piece is about - it concerns the land, customs, culture and traditions of Kazakhstan.

ETA2: And a lovely reaction video:
