Year 2 of Lockdown, Day 72
And perfect summary of yesterday's hearing:
~
And speaking of ridiculous - from We Hunted The Mammoth:
“Gender critical” transphobes attack LEGO for a new playset that acknowledges the existence of trans people

Changing to something far more interesting from last year:

Daily Dimash 4: Autumn Strong/Late Autumn
This song is one of the saddest, most beautiful songs I have ever heard. I have chosen the Gloria Wu version, since it shows both behind the scenes clips of Dimash talking about why he chose the song, as well as telling the background/history of the song. (A much more indepth write-up can be found here: An Untold Story: Li Xianglan.) The haunting sorrow Dimash imbues the words with is deeply touching. I can't words, sorry.
I do not fear longing
But your sorrow haunts me
We only have the wind to blame for our parting
I do not fear solitude
But your loneliness haunts me
No one will hear of our desolation
And here is The Charismatic Voice to explain exactly what is going on. (She'll be back, she's one of the best reactors out there):
Vocal Coach/Opera Singer REACTION & ANALYSIS Dimash Kudaibergen "Autumn Strong/Late Autumn":
I'll probably come back & add other performances, but for now this one just stands on its own. ♥
ETA: Brand-new reaction (with lots of analysis) from Soprano Notes:
Sidebar: 1st song - French, 2nd song - Russian, 3rd song - English, 4th song - Mandarin. I think he has sung in at least a dozen different languages, but it's interesting to note how he does it straight away in this competition.

What a day. Four straight hours of of testimony from a self-interested narcissist who has weaponised falsehood challenging the record of a self-interested narcissist who has weaponised falsehood.

Given today's news about the discoveries made at the National Trust's Oxburgh Hall in Norfolk, a brief thread about why we were there, and what was found. It isn't every day you recover medieval manuscripts, Tudor books, and C16th clothing from beneath the floor. #Thread pic.twitter.com/qRXQctCWrM
