Poor James. He was a gracious loser, that was actually his best performance of the night.
Yes, 100% class act. Shame about the song/performance.

Did France really think that if Italy's group had tested positive, they would get the crown instead? This is a singing competition, not the Olympics.
I haven't heard of this?? Like, what sort of rumour was going round?

Malta, Ukraine and Cyprus were my favourites.
I liked... *tries to remember* Ukraine, Switzerland... Um. Voted for Portugal (just a beautiful voice). Possible others. I mean Iceland, obviously. :)

Basically the group representing Italy had to take a drug test because of a shot that looked like one of them was snorting cocaine and France's Foreign Minister was pontificating about the values of Eurovision. *lol* They were clean but even if they hadn't been, it's not like they could have been disqualified, I think. As I said, it's not a sports competition.

I think everyone liked Iceland, I'm surprised they didn't win.

Oh the drug thing! Gotcha. Yes, I saw that on the night (Twitter was beside itself, they were very admiring of the apparent rock & roll attitude). And yeah, not sports. I wonder what the rules actually are...

Last year they would have for sure. I think they slightly missed their moment - yet another casualty of covid.
