I was stunned when I read about Prince Philip. I knew he wasn't well, though...and he did live to quite a ripe old age.

You clearly haven't been following the news (and WHY WOULD YOU), he's been in and out of hospital the past few months and the photos of him looked awful, poor guy. And yeah, 99 is pretty good innings.

I feel sad for his family but "99 year-old man dies in his sleep at home" would not be a headline IN ANY OTHER CIRCUMSTANCES. *looks at the hundreds of thousands of men who've died this past year well before they should have*
