And Russel T Davies is trending on Twitter (♥), so have this delightful thing I came across:
Anyway, he's trending because his new show starts tonight! Article here:
Russell T Davies: ‘I looked away for years. Finally, I have put Aids at the centre of a drama’
The acclaimed screenwriter recalls his life during the 1980s Aids crisis, and reveals why it is only now, with his new TV series It’s a Sin, that he feels able to tell a story that has haunted him for decades
It's a Sin starts tonight at 9pm on Channel 4!
Ancient Ship war (quite short):
When I say fandom has never changed throughout history, only our access to each other and ready ability to feud in front of crowds of the community and other people. pic.twitter.com/oALgVFqc7B

Let's talk about how not once, but TWICE, in WW2 a 650 year old treaty between Britain and Portugal (that the rest of the world had mostly forgotten about) was invoked to help the Allies win the war. pic.twitter.com/0Gmp20ONWF

Didn't have space for this in my interview (also: bit niche) but here's Russell T Davies' vision of an MCU-style future for #DoctorWho, complete with David Tennant/Matt Smith team-up and – the petition starts here, folks – The Nyssa Adventures. https://t.co/dFJhRrbZMU pic.twitter.com/WFobGiHuj1

Lovely idea but it won't happen because the BBC won't spend the money. They could have started something like that with 'Class' and we all know what happened there. :/

OTOH I don't want Doctor Who to be bought by Disney, so...

But I did love every single one of the characters right from the beginning. Brilliant writing and brilliant acting. Such sweet relationships and friendships.
But yeah, a tissue box might be needed.

I shall stock up on tissues. Thank you for the warning, although given the subject matter... :(

I watched Queer as Folk, but only the American version. I loved it and it seems to be one of the very few examples where the American is better than the original, so I never tried the other one.

He is generally excellent, so yes, seek him out! :)

I have never seen either (I know, I know) so can't comment...
(Late reply is late, sorry. Time just seems to vanish at the moment.)

We are watching too many other things... But hopefully soon, once we have gotten through other series.

Well, I'm kinda glad I already watched "Chernobyl" back in 2019 when it originally aired.
They finally showed it on German TV some weeks ago and while I recommended it to friends and co-workers, I couldn't bring myself to watch it again either.
Because I remember how there were scientists saying what would happen and politicians who ignored the scientists... sound familiar?
I'll keep checking back then! Set the timer for — one year? LOL

Mmm, there's another one that I keep telling myself I ought to watch and haven't yet. History repeating itself is very depressing...

Sure! Although when I watch it I will probably talk about it, so it'll appear on your flist. :)
