As always, I'm so moved by hearing from people rewatching the Buffy T'giving episode "Pangs" on this day. Enjoy your ritual sacrifice!

Thanksgiving has always been a special time for the Biden family. And while I know this isn’t the way many of us hoped to spend the holiday, the small act of staying home is a gift to our fellow Americans. pic.twitter.com/4mHOEFIcjV

Anyway, here's the view from across the pond:
I thoroughly enjoyed explaining to an American cousin the we don't even have the 4th July in UK; we just go straight from 3rd to 5th. And that's why they have to have time zones in America to allow for the skipped day.

Oh aye. You can have SO MUCH FUN with 4th July as a Brit in America.

I remember telling someone that in the UK we call it 'Tea Day' and that it's a day of mourning for the tea that was lost to Boston Harbour.
Told him it's the only day of the year where we drink coffee at home.
And something more productive:
Every year I invite non-Native folks who are celebrating the colonial holiday to do something in support of Native people. This holiday isn’t a happy one for a lot of folks, but if you would like to extend some solidarity to Native folks this weekend, here’s a thread for that.

Today is a perfect day to redistribute your wealth and share your privileges with Native folks.
This will serve as a thread of Native individuals and organizations you can give back to directly. Native relatives, I invite you to share your links and needs.
