Lockdown Update Day 214

I feel I should do some kind of personal post, but life is not very interesting. We are basically under lockdown, so can't really go anywhere or do anything.

So we are watching a fair bit of TV on an evening.

The 15 y.o. (she objects to being called 'the Cherub' I shall have to think of another moniker) decided that we should watch [the new] She-Ra, so we're now mid-S2 (I think). It's fun, but I have nothing to really say about it.

We also started watching Pride & Prejudice (the proper one, from the '90s) and it's just delightful. (Haven't watched it in YEARS.) Literally laugh-out-loud funny, and the teenager declared that Darcy reminds her of Angel, skulking around and Being Broody. I am pleased to have given her good reference points. (Our Buffy watch is stalled, the last ep we watched was 'Listening to Fear' - the one with the Queller Demon crawling around on the ceiling, brrr. But then the next one is 'Into the Woods' and I cannot manage any enthusiasm, so here we are.)

We are (of course) also watching The Repair Shop. It's the essential antidote for 2020 despair.

Darcy & I also (on a whim) decided to watch Misfits. bb!Klaus is obviously our favourite. There may be Misfits/Umbrella Academy cross-over fic happening at some point. We are um, in S2? Anyway, no spoilers please.

What else...

Oh yes, we watched Des, and lo, it was brilliant and David Tennant is amazing.

We are also re-watching The Bridge (FOR SAGA! ♥ ♥ ♥) and apparently I can forget crime drama plots to the point of not remembering who the bad guy is.

OK, I'm tried now. This was very pointless & waffly. Ah well, all hail TV.

The Repair Shop is indeed an excellent antidote to this fucking year.

Hahahaha, I love that pic. Television has pretty much kept us sane this year.

I loved Misfits, particularly the earlier series.

The Cherub is not allowed to be 15 and have opinions on her online nickname. I remember her being born, ffs.

An The Repair Shop is just the most soothing thing ever. Though new Montalbano is also a Good Thing.

I'm rewatching BtVS starting from the beginning of S5. Because I feel I need it.

I’ve never seen Misfits - I didn’t realise that the actor who plays Klaus was in it. Hmmm - it’s on Netflix - maybe I’ll add it to my growing list of stuff. I did enjoy the second season of the Umbrella Academy - what did you think of it?

I have sometimes wondered what "the Cherub" thought of her nickname :)

We are (of course) also watching The Repair Shop. It's the essential antidote for 2020 despair.

Absolutely! Clever, skilled people doing kind things is pretty much compulsory viewing these days just to remind ourselves the world can be a decent place.
