Lockdown Update Day 193

Life is finally beginning to calm down. Work has gone from MANIC to Oh It's The Quiet Time (this year's MANIC was a lot longer and a lot more work than usual - thanks covid) which is very nice.

And both of the older two have now gone off to uni. Impish Girl (19) has gone off for her 2nd year of drama, and Miss M (22) has gone off to start a Fine Art degree (she was the one who went to Cambridge to study philosophy but came back after a term because the place and the subject didn't agree with her, and then did volunteering with a conservation charity - planting trees and so on - before figuring out that art was her thing).

So we now have only one child in the house, which is strange.

Anyway, my first act has been to throw myself at The Fic again, so here's to getting the last two chapters finished!

Now, since this has become a RL post, I figured I might as well post some of my own art (very rare, haven't been drawing/painting in years - due to a) children/work and b) writing instead). However this is a water colour I did years ago for my mother, of her and Miss M baking.



And Miss M is now all grown up and creating art of her own. It makes me very happy. ♥

I am SO RELIEVED that I am writing again. Work was endless and mind-numbing (quite literally), but I now have a plot (or rather, I am wrapping up all the plot strands) and I think it'll work...

Well, one is going to be an actor and the other an artist so employability was never the main aim. ;) Although things are especially rough right now. They've been lucky to miss the main disruption.

They would definitely both MUCH rather be at uni than do long distance learning, even if they get locked up for quarantine purposes.

And the older one, in true art student tradition, has already dyed her hair pink.
