I just wonder how they got there. And why. And what happened.

I hope/presume someone gathered them all and released them somewhere safe.

An incompetent smuggler trying to get round import regulations. Depending on the airport, they might have been taken to the animal quarantine area; if they were rare, they will have been sent to a zoo or aquarium.

Omg the crabs!!! Okay, I did zero investigating, but do you think it was someone trying to smuggle crabs or a bunch of crabs somehow got into the luggage compartment, or...? That is so wild to them just dooping around like XD
