I think it's an old article, but something else brought it up on Twitter and I disappeared down a rabbit hole. I figured the article I linked to was the most helpful of what I came across, rather than people banging their heads on desks. (And yeah, I read about 'My Brother's Name Is Jessica'. Oof. When my fic is done I shall have to get back to my novel. I keep worrying that I am writing about issues that aren't 'mine', but otoh I seem to have done a lot of research already... And considering what is getting published I'm ahead of the curve. I will still get a sensitivity reader of course, since I don't know what I don't know.)

This post was prescient. Apparently John Boyne (who claims he has been silenced across media) has a major article in The Irish Times Magazine tomorrow all about how he's been oh-so-awfully oppressed by the trans and the literal Holocaust Museum and I. Just.

I linked to it. Not behind a paywall for once. He's got the most enormous victim complex and nothing is ever his fault. No mention made of the legal battle he's brought against a couple of Twitter critics who are actually correct in their criticism of him, presumably due to Irish defamation laws.
