Oh and I forgot about the work thing. How is it? Technologically I think it's gonna work out well. Was able to connect to the things I need to connect to and, frankly, my home computer so completely crushes my work computer in performance it's embarrassing. Mentally am struggling anew with the idea that people are expected to be productive 40 hours out of the week. Ridiculous.

Technologically I think it's gonna work out well. Was able to connect to the things I need to connect to and, frankly, my home computer so completely crushes my work computer in performance it's embarrassing. My issue is... well. My Mac is lovely, but everyone needs to log on through the college online system, so essentially I am opening up a PC inside my Mac. And there are a LOT of people on the network, so it's slow.
Mentally am struggling anew with the idea that people are expected to be productive 40 hours out of the week. Ridiculous. My boss has been great about that tbh. We're on a rota, so everyone has a 'long' day (i.e. normal working hours), where they are the main admin person & monitor the mail box and the applications coming in etc. Everyone else starts later and finishes earlier. :) And we're not expected to be in front of a screen for hours on end...
Also, one of the best things is being able to listen to music. I let youtube do its thing (I usually never have autoplay on, but) and it brought me Ralph Vaughn Williams. Here's a lovely selection:
