Update from The House of Plague, Day 22
It's strange. No one said things would be so quiet [during a pandemic/dystopia]. Today has been another beautiful and sunny day, and I went for a morning walk next to the river and listened to Classical music as I worked from home and hung out lots of washing and had lunch in the garden, in the sun, with a book. And the 18 year old practised juggling skills and is now making fudge, the 21 y.o. did some gardening and the 14 y.o. probably watched some anime, but mostly it's just quiet.
(ETA: This partly brought to you by Yet another novel I will no longer write: I was planning a pandemic zombie disaster novel in which people behaved like human beings, rather than psychotic, heavily armed doomsday preppers.)
Some nice things:
The Gruffalo author Julia Donaldson shows her characters social distancing
Tumblr composed a Corona virus children's nursery rhyme
Quarantine, day 14. Me and my boyfriend spent the whole day setting up an art gallery for our gerbil. (There is a photo!)
The Backstreet Boys performing I Want It That Way together from each of their homes
101 year old man, burn during the Spanish Flu, has beaten covid-19 in Italy

Some nice things:
Having been told that a reporter had received a letter from a child wondering if the Easter Bunny would be exempt from the lockdown, New Zealand’s PM Jacinda Ardern once again showed why she is one of the great world leaders. pic.twitter.com/KtR3eY1w99

That's cute with the Backstreet Boys!
And I really like the art gallery for the gerbil!

What an amazing life that man has had. I suspect all centuries had dramatic changes but it's just harder for us to imagine what it was like.

Nice. I'm not good with sewing, but my eldest has made one.
That's cute with the Backstreet Boys!
Alas, all I can her is "Weird Al" Yankovic's eBay song.
And I really like the art gallery for the gerbil!
I love miniature things, and am thinking of making one...

It's like a fairytale...

The last hundred years have been especially mad.

This was my reaction to the 101 year-old guy beating CV19 (all my CV19 posts are tagged '2020 pandemic')
I love how quiet it is, honestly. Shows how much noise vehicles make.

Jacinda Ardern is a good person.
I might suggest that D-d et al set up an art gallery for Tehi Tegi (cat named, quite rightly, after a local legendary witch!).

Amazing story about that 101 surviving this virus.

ALL I can hear is the Weird Al Yankovic song. I had completely forgotten that it was ever Backstreet Boys.

Sounds about right. Going back to work 'properly' and having to get up early early will be a nasty shock to the system.

Why are there so few like that in government? :( /rhetorical question

If they do, pictures please!!
