Someone on my flist posted that they'd seen gas at under $1 a gallon locally. Although it varies by as much as $2.50 a gallon from one part of the country to another, this was still astonishing as I last saw that in the 1990s.

I went to the grocery today but forgot to look at the gas prices since we've driven so little in the last month that I'm sure we're still on the same tank of gas from February.

Hubby works in the oil industry - the answer is no - covid19 is not going to stop pike exploration and drilling. The oil industry is essential for all kinds of stuff not just fuel. Most things in your house and what you wear are made from fossil fuels. Yes it’s likely that cars will be changing to more eco friendly fuels but we are decades away from not drilling for oil unfortunately.

We can but dream... But if we get hydrogen and/or electric cars, and renewable energy, that would be a massive step forwards.
