It's not just that they refuse to give food to the hungry, they condemn people for using food banks; it's not just that they refuse to invite strangers in, they force councils to cut social services, leading to more rough sleeping while homeless shelters close for lack of funds; they take and they take from the NHS and make money from poor people's ill health. Here is just one example of a couple who have been put under unnecessary stress due to the Home Office's hostile environment.
