This is an issue for me as well. Our women candidates are stronger than most of our men candidates (and, as per usual, as better with plans and ideas for the various issues our country needs to address), but they are backburnered in comparison with the male candidates. Our Puritan roots are showing, I'm afraid. Woman have to 'sparkle' and 'be interesting', but not too intelligent (snobby), too aggressive (bitchy) or too forward thinking (air-fairy daydreaming). It makes me sick, it truly does.

I'm reminded of a witty aside by some stand up comedian once - who remarked that when flying he always felt very reassured if the pilot was female, because he knew that in order to get that job she'd have had to work so much harder than any man. Ditto presidential candidates; any woman running will be many many MANY more times prepared than any man. Because she knows she'll be scrutinised in every detail, and can't just rock up and be 'folksy'.

Plus yes, quite some super power. Although the opposite is very much in evidence also (see Trump or Farage or - most recently - Ben Shapiro).
