I saw the film twice and I did enjoy it so I didn't finish the article. I will say that the boat that sinks in the film isn't the Titanic, as the sinking takes place in 1901, so that's just wrong.
In some ways the promise of LGBT rep was classic baiting. They promised a lot, and what we got was both so little, and so unsubstantial that it’s a disheartening step down from Bill last year. I want to give them the benefit of the doubt, I don’t think that the production team intentionally played up the amount of LGBT rep, but is that any better? Did they really think that this was enough?
Yes! I've discussed this with my other friends, the team did some real queerbaiting, but I don't see massive outrage over this for some reason.
