Watching The Dark World, and they do at least flesh out the Asguard sets quite a bit. It's not nearly as sterile, and actually very LotR. Though more elves crossed with dwarves.

The rest of it sucks. Other than 20 seconds of Loki pretending to be Captain America in full 'because it's wrong!' fashion.
