I've always wondered - you don't happen to know by any chance, if it's only paid LJ accounts that get birthday alerts? Because if my free account has that feature I've never seen it before. The only way I ever know if it's a Friend's birthday is if I happen to see other people on my FL wishing that person Happy Birthday.

Anyway, I'm finishing up work right now before embarking on the long, holiday weekend. My birthday plans tonight are to shop for some serious winter boots that will keep me warm, dry and comfortable in the bitterly cold and wet days ahead. Wish me luck.

The birthday thing is very easy - if you know where to look:

That page lists all your friends by birthday (if it's on their user info page of course). I'd never have found it though, if Anna hadn't pointed it out once! It's (for some reason) not easily accessible...
