That's a part of what I love about this kind of character, though. The fact that age (or apparent age) doesn't matter, any more than gender or whether someone's an alien or a vampire or whatever. The age thing has always fascinated me, though, ever since Buffy and Angel.
Oh no, she very definitely isn't, and I love that. (Mind you, the Doctor's a hell of a lot older than Angel was, too.) I didn't mean this was anything particularly like Buffy and Angel, really, just that I love it when they turn expectations on their head and make such fascinating relationships out of it. :-)
It's funny, because when Peter Capaldi was announced, my then 12 year old said that she didn't want River back, because she was much too young & pretty to be kissing someone like Capaldi. *g*
Age can look very different on men and women, can't it? And Alex looks amazing and kind of... ageless? Where Peter seems to have embraced looking older deliberately - I do think he looks older than he is. Interesting!
