They think they are feeding far too many children who don't need it. And that it's a parent's duty to feed their children, so it's wrong for the state to do it. And it's expensive and was only ever a concession to the LibDems. (Like almost all of the non-evil things done by the Coalition).

And it's an evil thing to do but they assume few people who vote care enough.

With any luck at all May will have to drop it like anything else controversial in this maimed government.
