This came about mostly in response to the newest LJ issues.

I admit to a fair bit of hyperbole, but why not? My keywords are 'Change is bad'. :)

(I've also wanted a Tanya icon, because she's brilliant.)

Hah! This made me wonder if there's any real fandom usage of Slack -- I think it would work rather well, at least for conversation. Posting type stuff would be too difficult to find. But it's definitely hugely useful for work.

Of course it can't just be 20 people keeping all those old platforms going. I'm sure there are still active mailing lists somewhere.

I'd forgotten the existence of that xkcd comic, but it is, indeed, a perfect summation of the reality of the internet <3

Also, have been reading a whole lot of people who do all their work on iPads now and the 'Macs forever' people who feel their way of life is now under threat, and the arguments are just exactly the same. Exactly. I love it.
