Debate thoughts

Actually 'thoughts' might be overstating facts.


ETA: Mind you, Clinton has been dealing with misogynistic hateful morons her whole life. It's like the meeting of archetypes...




Not that I'll be watching. Too nerve-wracking (and too late). Although a majority of all movies have it wrong. The person who has to save the world isn't a straight, white, cis 'average guy' (or a straight, white, cis expert [soldier] of some kind. It's a 68 year old calm and measured woman. And (despite what the bad guy may wish for) there will not be a final shoot-out or a showdown with lots of punching.

I comfort myself with the thought that if anyone can stand being in a room while Trump lies and rages for minute after minute and still remain sane, it's Hillary.

I purchased a bottle of bourbon on my way home from work. I have no idea if I'm going to work up the nerve to watch or not, but if I do, it will basically be because of this:

tonight, we are pretty much sending Hillary Clinton to drill into a giant asteroid & nuke it from the inside before it can destroy the earth

Like, we have put the fate of the world on her shoulders. The least I can do is bear witness?

Ugh *drinks* I'm not ready for this.

(Trying to psych myself up for the epic, epic clinton eyeroll/bitchface gifs that will surely be all over the internet tomorrow morning. Woman knows how to work a reaction shot.)

In the meantime, I had gotten behind on listening to election podcasts, which have basically been my source of sanity in the midst of this crazy, and I did not realize that they are basically tied in the polls now ?!?!?!?!?!

I just . . . *hopeless* What the fuck are we going to do if she doesn't win?

Apparently that happened at the same time as they switched to polling 'likely voters'. Also read the article above - she should get the electoral votes she needs. :)

That small pigeon sound thing would have been great!!

I couldn't watch the debates live either. I can't stand looking at that man's face for a minute, let alone ninety of them. But I followed tweets and clips. She definitely held her own well! He was a dithering idiot - but what else is new!
