I have only one friend who might have voted Leave, and she voted Tory at the last election so things have been pretty cool between us lately anyway. Recoverable, but anyone who would vote for such hateful policies needs some time away from me, because I don't like rowing with people I love, and one does have to re-examine one's own judgement when someone does something like that.
Disagreements are one thing, but when someone does something so harmful to you and other people you love, or care about you have to wonder whether they are the person you thought they were; or whether you were blinded by your affection.

Yeah.
(And the Pooh & Piglet thing is mostly illustrative. Obviously Piglet would never vote Leave.)
All that said, I know how you feel...
ETA: Actually, having thought about, I am changing my opinion. I can definitely see Piglet being led along by Rabbit, who'll tell him about how if he doesn't vote Leave lots of FIERCE ANIMALS will come into the wood, and they'll overrun poor little creatures like Piglet.

(...probably not the actual point of the piece).

Like - I know most of the people who voted Leave aren't horrible. Yet they helped create the mess that we'll all have to pay for for years to come.
(Several of my work colleagues voted Leave, and I have to bite my tongue SO HARD not to ask them if they aren't pleased with what they've wrought...)

(Above all it's the sheer stupidity that gets to me...)
