This is England (Sports Day 2016)
The Cherub's (primary) school is Catholic, but it sits at the heart of a large Asian part of town, so there are many Asian kids. Also Polish, Phillipino, African etc. - a multitude of colours & nationalities.
The weather was a combination of sunny & cloudy, and rather windy. (Which was good.) It started with a picnic at 12 for children & their families, and then at about 1 the actual sports began.
I was looking around, and it was beautiful. Happy children and parents cheering/taking pictures/chatting/trying not to look bored.
Incidentally the Cherub's best friends are Polish, Russian/Portugese and Indian.
All the girls went to this school, and the diversity is a definite plus. I think fear & hatred comes from isolation [in tribes].
But today at least proved how it can all work and people can get along and be happy. Sign me up for multi-cultural Britain.
