Bojack

Bojack Horseman is the single most innovative and interesting show around, and you should watch it.

(We're about halfway through S3, and trying to parcel it out so it lasts. Mind you, I should probably mention that it's deeply cynical & rather depressing and yet... one of the most human shows I have ever had the pleasure to watch. <3)

ETA: Oh, and I forgot to mention that it's hilarious! The visual jokes alone...

That episode was excellent. A+ Though, I don't really find it out of line with things that a lot of shows are doing anymore? Because TV is great.

Actually, what that particular episode reminds me the most of is Anthony Bourdain. The crew that does that show is amazingly experimental and loves to do movie homages. Yes, it's nominally a travel show, but some of the best episodes are like these trippy, moody, visual poems.

A season or two ago they did an episode about the Philippines. It was amazing. The whole thing was like this cracked-out Asian Christmas kaleidoscope and then in the middle of it you cry for a solid two minutes while this Filipino grandmother sings "Edelweiss" over montages of people in airports.

I have brought him up a time or ten ; )

It is the show that I've been actively engaged with for the longest amount of time. Like, I think I'm approaching ten years of watching it and I still get excited about new episodes (though the tv overlords are currently making it difficult for me to get my hands on *kicks*)

That genuinely surprises me. I mean, it's not like everybody in America knows him or something, but there is a sizeable portion of the population for which he is an institution. And his shows are just so quality, and there's so much of it. I would think it would be a global syndication treasure trove--like Top Gear. I mean, it's not very much like Top Gear, but they fill a similar very broad television niche.

Obama called him to ask to be on his show: https://youtu.be/4DNyVijKAP0

Also there's no wrong way to watch, which is great. It's not like you're dealing with ongoing storylines, so you can pick up whatever you want, whenever you want. It's just a buffet of variety and awesome.

He despises Trump. :)
Naturally. And the snark is strong with him, as I'm sure you can see.

Oh and he's waging a war on fast food...
Mostly ; ) In fairness, In-N-Out is amazing. I spent a week in LA and I think I ate there four times.

Also he's quite a good writer, as evidenced by the article. You can see it really strongly in the show as well.

I knew I'd gone on at rambing length about him at some point. Here you go.

A week out from watching Bojack I'm quite satisfied with it, in a quiet way. It has a nice weight to it. I would watch more.
