I don't think it's likely to actually happen, but you know, now that this gauntlet has been thrown, if Trump really did go "sure, I have no fucks to give, just you watch me" and change his name back to his ancestors' Drumpf (I wonder if this was an Ellis Island kind of thing? I have a similar-sounding Ellenbogen -> Elbow in my family tree), he probably would actually gain from that rather than losing. Kind of scary.
You'll get no argument from me. His face doesn't look real, his hair isn't real - the physical attributes don't seem to fit together the way they would on most other human beings.
Add to that his atrocious manners and the horrible reality of what he says and does, and I can't watch him either.
I just watched this! It was great. it is frightening how many Americans are being lured into this mess. I really hope he doesn't get the Republican nomination... Gods help us all...
I just don't understand how anyone could see Trump as 'tough', when he can't even handle a few non softball questions from someone like Megan Kelly. I mean, she's hardly a hard edged reporter.
Mind you, they're all like that! 'Oh no, the questions were really hard!' If they can't cope with a panel discussion, how will they ever manage as President?
It's the difference with someone like Clinton, how many hours was it again that they interrogated her during that Benghazi commission, and she still came out of it with dignity, and looking presidential, and that was up against people that despised her.
Hillary is made of bloody teflon! (She may not always have been, but she's spent 30 years having crap thrown at her, all the [male] Republican candidates would run a mile if they had to live her life for a day.)
LMAO that was outstanding! It's so true on every level. I didn't know a lot of those details.
On the surface of things, I can see why his supporters like him. But like Oliver pointed out, the whole tell it like it is thing is bullshit because he's such a huge liar.
I wish watching something like this would wake some of his supporters up, but I've kind of lost hope in that. They'd just ignore it as "liberal bs" or just shrug their shoulders and say "well he's not a politician so why not give him a shot." It's so scary and frustrating.
It's as if they don't realise that everywhere else he's a joke. Literally. (A very scary joke, but a joke. Like a parody of the loud-mouthed, slightly thick, American.)

Thank you, John Oliver, America has been waiting for this.
I'll admit for a good 5/6 of the segment I was kinda ehhhhhh. I mean, it's like shooting fish in a barrel: the man is basically self-parodying.
But then. The ending. So much, so much beauty.
