Plus, loving that little moment of insecurity at the end - wringing his hands to show he's not one hundred percent darkness.

*nods* A reaction against Eleven's drunk giraffe. ETA: Commenting too quickly. Meant to say that I like the idea of Sixth Doctor parallels.

OH GOD YES PLEASE. Six—don't get me wrong, I do like Six, but in some ways it's more about liking what the stories could have been than what they actually were. I have been longing for a story that does what "The Twin Dilemma" was trying to do—a nice dark look at how catastrophic and alien regeneration really is, and the question of how you deal with a friend who's gone so different it scares you—only, y'know, I want a story that knocks it out of the park.
