Weather.

A little clarification re. my last post: My parents are Danish, but they moved to the Faroe Islands when I was tiny, so that is where I grew up. I have now lived in the UK for a loooong time.

And to give you a flavour of the place that isn't touristy, I thought this would be perfect. I happened across it on youtube, and it's quite simply lots of youtube clips of weather in the Faroes shoved together. (Don't worry, the first clip has no sound - it's not your computer.) Also, re. that first part, then I showed it to Darcy and he took in the situation, then said: "But that's INSANE! I don't want to watch someone DIE!"

Don't worry, no one dies. But it's... pretty insane. Am also pleased there are segments on our brave little - and not so little - ferries.)

Incidentally, the worst storm [ever recorded] was the Christmas storm of 1988. At its worst, the wind was measured at 62 meters per second (that's 138.6 miles per hour). Although to be fair, at that point the Anemometer broke.

Mind you, storms are a winter thing. In summer there's generally rain and fog. (And sun and wind and then more rain and then the next half hour is going to be *really* changeable... *g*)
