Still warm...

I really shouldn't post fic at the weekend. No one's around. Or maybe no one's reading me anymore...

Well, on the offchance anyone's still interested, I posted:

Chapter 3 of Divided Destiny. (Post-NFA epic quest thing.)

And on Friday I posted Chapter 24 (Interlude featuring the End of the World) of Dating. (DW AU with tons of OCs.)

~~~
Also came across this earlier, and am still trying to wrap my head around it: Cute dictator. I think my brain broke.
~~~

In other news, then the way to regain faith in humanity is to attend a (primary) school talent show. The Cherub was in the final, so we had to go, and omg it was amazing. The Cherub herself did rather well - she'd chosen Elton John's 'Your Song' (all on her own) and refused to let us help her practice, but she knew most of it, and has a really good voice. :) There were other singers (the very first act was a tiny little black girl - 5 years old probably - in a pink Darth Vader T-shirt who was not in the least shy. Although she jumped when the music started. ♥) There were other singers (I especially remember a girl in a princess outfit, with a sword, who sang a very long song about MARCHING), and dancers (including a little Indian boy doing a brilliant Bollywood routine), a girl doing baton twirling (she also had a proper routine, and was very good), and a girl playing the keyboard. But best of all were four girls playing violin. Because they were terrible. Every cliché you can think of, they ticked the boxes. They seemed to be playing four different tunes. All of which were out of tune. It made my evening, and possibly my week.

Ghhh the cute dictator is PERFECTION!
Awwwww, the kids sound adorable ;) V. nice to hear from you with the little posts, dear!

The talent show sounds like it was all kinds of adorable!

Haha, yes! It's terrible, but it's HILARIOUS!
Lol, I'm absolutely the same. I give it a try now and again with Twitter, but most of the time I'm like "…why would anyone care?". Kid-related updates are cuuuute though ^_^

XD you're good at plenty of other things. (Not least of all epic, fandom-open, cultural and cool parenting from the sound of it ;))

*grins*
As for the life updates—well, tbh I have a lot of friends who aren't that fond on talking about themselves, at least RL-wise, and I'm never too shocked by it, quite the contrary… I'm way more likely to be a bit annoyed that someone who's like "well, look how thrilling my life is!". IDK—I'm just likely to feel closer to someone that stuff makes a bit awkward because I feel the same way? ;)

[identity profile] flowsoffire.livejournal.com 2013-07-23 08:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, getting that. And it'd be silly to have to pretend. Life is cluttered and colourful and imperfect ;)

writing variations on 'I love my kids but OMG THE MESS!' or 'Work was very tiring today, students can be idiots/why does EVERY job in College have to be passed onto Campus Admin?' just seems dull to me...
Haha, yes—I have the same problem though not about the same things ;)

I'm still reading you...though I'm having a heck of a time catching up with ALL THE FIC and POSTS.

Awwww...Cherub is just that! Bless! And this last bit made me smile so hard!

*HUGS*

The talent show sounds awesome. I had my first similar experience just a week ago, when my kid's summer camp put on its first show for the parents.

I especially liked the little kid Bollywood routine and the four violinists. LOL!

Yes, I think so… ;)

*hugs* ♥
Haha, I couldn't say the same—why, I wouldn't say I have much of a RL really, but these days I've been so hectic with all the stuff I want to do online. I can't get anything done just kill me. XD (Seriously, it's unnerving—I feel like a bee and yet all the to-do stuff keeps piling up because I'm always having something new that NEEDS TO BE DONE NOW. And/or I cling to discipline enough to get a decent amount of work done everyday, but by the time the evening rolls around I'm like "eff it".)
XD I don't mean to whine, because online life is cool and I'm pretty fortunate to have my work flexibility and all—just doing that sharing thing, y'know ;) *waves awkwardness away* XD

[identity profile] flowsoffire.livejournal.com 2013-07-26 09:19 am (UTC)(link)
Yesssssss. There's always something that comes up! (Plus I'm running a fic exchange on ff.net with some girls and ghhh… between the late entries, the unedited entries and the entries missing the necessary posting info… =P)

I love online life, but it EATS TIME LIEK WHOA!
This could be our motto. ^_^

And now forum drama :D *draws hearts and balloons*
Motto is adopted ;P
