Hot...

So warm! According to the BBC it's 28 degrees, and I believe them. (I love this icon, btw.)

Mind you, I'm not complaining. After the non-summer we had last year, it's good to have proper sun. And right now we're off to watch b-i-l boat racing. (He must be ded from sun by now, poor thing.)

Also updated Dating. (Pulling together story lines laid down over the past many years. Oh, it is immensely satisfying!)

OK, running out the door. Just wanted to say hello. :)

ETA: We were too late for the races (not surprisingly), but still had a great time at the lake, everyone (except me) getting thoroughly soaked. And I mean soaked. Need to wash all their clothes now...

*waves* Hello to you too! It's nice to see you pop by. What with finding no time to comment these days, I was noticing a terrible elisilessness in my inbox.
Love the icon too—River and wine, mmm. (I was SO SURE I had a Disgracefully!moment!icon, but I'm not finding it. Then again, I definitely have the icon virus now so I'm bound to get a bit confused… 70 new ones in one evening the other day, 30 this morning… Teehee.)
Have fun watching boat racing and enjoy the heat! ;)

during the height of our correspondence you happened to catch me during a few days off work.
I was pretty fortunate then :D

I mean, I'm usually around, I just don't get round to posting.
Same here…

Also I've been busy writing... (I'm pulling together all the strands I've laid down for YEARS, it's so satisfying I can't being to explain it! \o/)
YES! Well, I'm not anywhere near catching up but I'm still very excited for you :D

I know which one you mean! :D
Do you? *puzzled* XD
I FOUND IT NOW :D :D :D

I, uh, have NO IDEA how many I've got. Like, at all. Thousands.
Not surprised. ;)
Okay, now I can't resist the urge to count mine. 211. ;)

The race was over, but we enjoyed both water & heat!
Good ;)

[identity profile] flowsoffire.livejournal.com 2013-07-14 12:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Indeed. As was I! :)
^_^

Thank you! It wasn't some sort of [non] subtle plug, I am just so happy, and figured you'd know the feeling.
And that's exactly the way I understood it, no worries ^_^ I should work on my own multi-chapter sometime, haha. Got a bit of a block on some part =P

I have 282 icons uploaded. And it's not enough...
*thumbs up*

[identity profile] flowsoffire.livejournal.com 2013-07-14 01:45 pm (UTC)(link)

♥♥♥

I'm on the home straight now, it's MARVELLOUS!
*hugs happily*

I should probably worry...
Nah… Get wild ;) Madness can be such fun.

Can't. Have reached the maximum limit.
*mourns*

[identity profile] flowsoffire.livejournal.com 2013-07-14 03:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Haha, read my mind—I thought while sending this "this is fun, but it can't last much longer". I'll leave you to your washing. But speak soon hopefully ;)

[identity profile] flowsoffire.livejournal.com 2013-07-14 04:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, sensible life. *sighs wistfully* (I was just having a conversation with a friend on Facebook about what counts as work and what counts as entertainment—the example of my translating her fic for instance—so we have perfect timing, haha.)

[identity profile] flowsoffire.livejournal.com 2013-07-14 05:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Isn't it just? Personally, I sort things out as work = translating and the odd languages-related thing, entertainment = fandom stuff, Facebook and the like, and shove all the rest in the "in-between stuff" category, because I like things to be all orderly in my head—but that terribly lacks nuance, and really one could debate endlessly ;)

[identity profile] flowsoffire.livejournal.com 2013-07-14 06:07 pm (UTC)(link)
I wouldn't even know where to start... *waves hands at trying to encapsulate life*
Getting that ;)

Although I guess work is the stuff that HAS to get done. Be it the day job or house work.
*nods* Sounds like a sensible explanation.

Loving that icon, again :D (I'm in a One!icon mood today, haha. Just finished s1 of the classics ♥)

[identity profile] flowsoffire.livejournal.com 2013-07-14 06:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Given my speed, I don't know if you could call it a marathon really ^_^ A crawlathon perhaps? But I don't care, I just found links to ALL the classics in a couple of Dailymotion channels I was looking through for a friend. It'll take me MONTHS AND MONTHS AND MONTHS to get through all of this but it still makes me happy :D

[identity profile] flowsoffire.livejournal.com 2013-07-14 07:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Very awesome =) (And it's French! *random* ;))

[identity profile] flowsoffire.livejournal.com 2013-07-14 08:20 pm (UTC)(link)
^_^ Yeah, it is. And one of our ministers refused to let it be bought by Yahoo so it remains super French… =P

[identity profile] flowsoffire.livejournal.com 2013-07-15 07:32 am (UTC)(link)
Awwww. Don't use delicious so I wouldn't know, but yeah, there's always a risk with those giants. A lot of stuff was said about how it wasn't the best message to be sending to outside investors, but oh well =P

[identity profile] flowsoffire.livejournal.com 2013-07-15 05:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Haha, yes, that's for sure! ;)

[identity profile] flowsoffire.livejournal.com 2013-07-19 07:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Goodness. After reading about what's going on with Tumblr, I now QUITE agree with you… Keep anything away from Yahoo.

[identity profile] flowsoffire.livejournal.com 2013-07-19 08:07 pm (UTC)(link)
I've not been keeping up with the Tumblr situation, except for my teenage daughter grumbling...

Quick sum-up:
"Rather than removing it completely, Tumblr has made adult content unsearchable.
[…] under Tumblr’s new content restrictions, posts from Adult-rated blogs will no longer show up on tags. Any tags. Also, Tumblr is able to flag your account as Adult without you labelling it as such—although users do have the option of appealing to the “Trust & Safety Team” if their feel their blog has been flagged unfairly."
And that's what made my mind go blank:
"It’s unclear whether this is directly linked to the new content restrictions, but for example, iPhone users searching the #gay, #lesbian or #bisexual tags have reported seeing the result “No posts found,” although #bi, #lgbt and #queer still produce results."
I… can't even. It sounds too surreal to be true. With adult content one can argue—and argue fiercely—about how they're handling things, but setting boundaries is understandable. But this? I just don't know.

Just in case you had the time and felt like making your own opinion with the full story: http://www.dailydot.com/lifestyle/tumblr-nsfw-content-tags-search/

[identity profile] flowsoffire.livejournal.com 2013-07-19 08:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Good question. *sighs*
Oh well. I hope you're good besides! Sorry for throwing my Tumblr annoyance at you, lol. I don't even USE my Tumblr, but that whole thing just felt so offensive and it was v. relevant to our former Yahoo/Dailymotion convo, so… ;)

[identity profile] flowsoffire.livejournal.com 2013-07-19 08:25 pm (UTC)(link)
And have had a busy week and am writing fic, so all is good.
Yes! I saw the Dating update and was like "grumblegrumble why am I not up to date someone give me an out-of-time 24-hour pocket to get up to date" and I ALSO saw the River + Master fic and was like *AIRPUNCH* but I'm dreadfully late on emails, yadda yadda, will enjoy and comment the daylight out of it sometime in the coming week =P

I have wine!
And I so approve!

[identity profile] flowsoffire.livejournal.com 2013-07-19 08:29 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL. If you ever find one, please share? I could use it...
Oh, you'll be the first to know! XD

Enjoy when you get the time. It's not going anywhere. :)
I hope so, my lassoing skills are rather rusty.

*goes back to wine*
Disgracefully… ;)

[identity profile] a-phoenixdragon.livejournal.com 2013-07-13 03:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Glad you are having such nice weather!! And that fic is being updated! Have an awesome day, bb...

*HUGS*

I like that icon!

And sounds like a nice weather kind of day in your neck of the cyber-woods. We're having an actual summer here this year too, though today's high is only supposed to be 23c/75f. Much better than the record setting 94f/34c from last week!

[identity profile] zanthinegirl.livejournal.com 2013-07-13 06:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm so not a fan of the heat. Bleh! Seattle summers are usually 70s/ low 80sF (I think 20sC) at most; it's one of the things Iike best about the PNW. I've lived in much hotter places, but had A/C which makes a huge difference in livability. Nobody I know around here has A/C! I saw several movies last week primarily because air conditioning!

It was about... 41? 42? Something like that today. 106 F anyway. :melts:

So . . . I did the Celsius/Fahrenheit conversion, and now I am laughing at you. *pours some more iced tea and resumes perspiring attractively*

There's a Black Books episode where they are all *dying* because it is eighty degrees out? I thought I was missing a joke. . . . . I'm not missing a joke, am I?
promethia_tenk: (water and sky)

[personal profile] promethia_tenk 2013-07-14 04:01 pm (UTC)(link)
This is why I like England - it very rarely gets CRAZY hot. (Anything over 30 is crazy imho...)
*giggles helplessly* 86 . . . 86 still counts as a pleasant summer day, unless the humidity is out of control. Which, admittedly, it often is. Normal summer around here is high 80s, low 90s, hazy, hot, and humid. With afternoon thunderstorms.

I love the heat myself. Not that I'm a summer person because I love cold and snow too, but I want my seasons to feel like seasons. Or I get very cranky ; ) But there is something glorious in all that slow, languid heat. Though I love that super-hot, arid heat in the desert too. It makes you feel like . . . anything toxic is being baked right out of you.

Basically I love weather ; )

Nope. :)
*pfffftt* You guys are so cute.
