Fireflyyyyyyyyyy
Introduced the girls (the older ones) to this gem tonight as we watched the first episode.
They rather loved it.
Impish Girl especially liked Kaylee (not surprisingly, she's very Kaylee-like herself) and Inara and Zoe ('the girls are nice. The boys are just grumpy!') and also Jayne - she didn't care whether he was good or bad (although she's since been begging me to tell her if he goes on to betray Mal), she just thought he was awesome.
Miss M's favourite character is Book.
Darcy reckons it's the best thing Joss has ever done ('Properly original'), so I didn't even get any grief from him!
*sigh*
Firefly is a show that I just love. I can offer no meta, no fic. I just love it and can't add anything to it. Am looking forward to the girls realising just how much like River Song little River Tam is. :)

You certainly have a point! *sigh*
Anyway, I am pleased that my offspring have a highly developed sense of good taste! :)

(I'd be careful with the Reavers episode, though...I had nightmares for months after I saw for the first time at the age of 30.)

...oooh- I would like to hear your thoughts on this one because the only couple of comparisons that I can think of are: 1) They've both gotten their heads massively screwed with at some point, they're both very strong willed, incredibly smart, and can basically kick lots of ass. xD

I love the fact that it's so long and takes its time to introduce everything. I still remember that the first time I watched it I remembered everyone's names after the pilot - and I am USELESS at remembering people's names in TV shows. I still can't remember anyone on any CSI show, except Horatio.

Your point being? *g* (I remember - but can't find - an old icon that said 'We have replaced River Song with River Tam. Let's see how long it takes for the Doctor to notice'. As the show went on, it became obvious that it could take him quite a while...)

Good to see the Firefly love pass on down to the next generation!

For me, I just can't choose. I just love them all - it's the combination that I adore.

It is fandom's shibboleth - how could I not? *g*

It's far too bad that there is so little of it. But what there is is priceless.
If anyone here likes Firefly and Doctor Who, and would like some more of both, I heartily suggest they read the fan novel, "The Man With No Name (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3486089/1/The-Man-With-No-Name),"
It's the 10th Doctor meets Firefly, in Firefly's universe, the Tardis on their ship and they're off on an adventure together. It's professional quality fiction and is completely faithful to both universes. (I didn't write it, but I've read it five times now, it's that good, it's over 100,000 words long, but it doesn't feel like it. It's great.)

*nods* And something different to the usual fare on top of that!

Thank you, will try to check that out! Looks interesting. :)
