A bit of silliness...
Watched The Bells of St John last night with the Cherub. (She has declared it her new favourite episode.) And the ending made me laugh, because... well. Clara ain't your average Companion.
I've basically just copied the lines straight from the show, except for the very end where I've filled in what the Doctor is so very obviously thinking. Also HIS FACE. Oh I will miss that face.

Silly, Clara. All the future time spent with the Doctor and Grace was his first on-screen kiss. And, let's face it, the Ponds have done all the snogging.
Amy, Rory, and River.

Nine kissed/was kissed by Rose and Jack. (That I can remember.)
Ten had... Rose, Martha, Donna, Astrid, Lady Christina, Joan Redfern, Reinette. (Were there more?)
Eleven had Amy (despite protests) and River. Oh and Rory. And then Clara. (Like you say... Ponds. And then Clara, who's an honorary Pond?)
In conclusion: Ten a h0r. A multi-companion, multi-kissing Time Lordy h0r. This is a vid which merely reflects that...

Somehow I thought I'd seen that one before and figured I'd watch again just for kicks, but actually I hadn't. Brilliant.
In fairness, the chances that you *hadn't* shown it to me before were very low.

Although she did slap him soundly after he snogged her. :)

Of course Ten kissed Martha, but that was for strategic purposes. Eleven just likes kissing. :)

It's funny because Ten is essentially sex on legs, whereas Eleven is.. a drunk giraffe. Yet get him with River and their chemistry is just off the scale.

Or maybe not the same age, but they exist in a place where 'age' doesn't matter... To quote
They share enough history to owe it to each other to be there for each other.
And, goodness, such a history it is, but the relationship is never defined by that history. If anything, it is defined by the mutual acknowledgement that their history establishes the basis for the relationship, but the relationship exists always and only in the here and now. They never stoop under the weight of their history. Buffy taking Dawn to Spike in Villains is one of many examples that illustrates that. There's always a back doorstep, if you like – always a place the two of them can find where they can sit, side-by-side, and put everything else behind them.
The only times when that doesn't apply are the Library eps and LKH, because Ten and Mels at that point don't yet understand the game. But the second it kicks in - they're equals. Age doesn't matter.

Ehhh, I don't think it matters much when it comes to all this incidental kissing who is technically the kisser or the kiss-e. They're both great big seducers who only sometimes think after the fact about what kind of signals they might have been sending that they didn't entirely intend . . .
Which Clara points out fabulously.

Indeed she does. *cheers for Clara*

I've not told you about yesterday... Must make a post. There was much fannishness.

You'd want it in gif form anyway : ( Here, next best thing:

Also, the pic of Tennant removing his necktie will never NOT be sexier than anything in the universe. What a charming face. And the bedroom eyes, OMG. He really is the thinking woman's sex symbol.

And I'm totally with you on Ten making eyes at Martha. No wonder she thought he was interested... (I always found it telling that playing Casanova was essentially DT's audition for Doctor Who. *cough*)

Interestingly, if you've ever seen "The Second Coming," which RTD wrote/ produced, Eccleston's character there was pretty much the template for Nine. I love RTD, but I don't think he reached very far for his character templates for his first two Doctors.

I've not, but I've read about it, and I can see what you mean.

I'd never thought about that before, but that's a very interesting observation. Huh. I'll have to ponder that.
