That's funny—I have several close friends I met when they were 13, and am still in touch with, but because I know she's your girl, it's like it makes her feel younger in my head, lol. I'm closer to her age than yours though… XD

Feet gently brushing the floor, Ankaramordacitas, newly 8 and widely alert, slowly rose from her bed. She had carefully untwined her hair from its complicated plait the night before. While she knew it was a highly important part of the ritual of the Untempered Schism for a female she also happened to know that she had no intention of being opened to the wonders of the universe.

I am SO proud!
She still needs to work on plot and pace and not overusing tropes and all KINDS of things - but that stuff comes with time, and is just another thing to learn. But the flow of language and the rhythm and all that? She's got it. :)
