Bad Eggs.

Would you believe it - I'm actually still doing this re-watch thing. And I'm here! (Sorry - RL is busy and stuff. It's all very boring and you really don't want to hear about it.)

So - 'Bad Eggs'. Generally at the bottom 10 of everyone's list, and I can't really disagree with that. Although there was one thing I'd forgotten...
Basically - it must really suck to be a B/A shipper, because 'Bad Eggs' has an overflow of hot B/A kisses. Not that there's much to distract from the kisses - here's a list of the storylines:

1) B/A kissing. Sweet, but DOOMED!
2) The Gorch-brothers! Yay!
3) Cordy/Xander lust. Fun. Sorta.
4) Bad Eggs and yucky demon thing. Boo!
5) Buffy's mother thinks she's irresponsible, Buffy gets grounded. She's not wrong...

Don't have much to say about any of it really. Having watched 'Intervention' yesterday, it all fell rather flat - the B/A stuff felt so impossibly naive and immature. To borrow from Spike, but with a slight change: It's very pretty, but it's not all that real. Buffy claims not to think about the future at all, and if she does, all she sees is Angel (and he says he can't father children...). Meh. Give me a Buffy kissing a bruised Spike any day!

And now I *must* go to bed, because I am barely conscious! ::yawns::

Awww, but I kinda liked "Bad Eggs" - mostly because everybody else doesn't (oh, and hey, "Beer Bad" is funny too). Perhaps its because I don't think that Bangel was terribly serious at this point that I can deal with the superficiality. Though sometimes I wonder where the Bangels come from - soulmates? All they did was skate and kiss before he went evil. But hey - totally with you on the kissing Spike is much cooler for Buffy to do.

I think a lot of the complaints about both Beer Bad and Bad Eggs is that they felt kinda preachy - which isn't actually the case,if you watch the episodes carefully.

But you left out the best bit about the B/A kisses in "Bad Eggs"! When they're making out in the graveyard, the camera pans from them to a gravestone that says "In loving memory...". And of course, after the next episode, innocent B/A smoochies will become a distant memory.

"Bad Eggs" might be in my bottom ten out of default, but I don't actually dislike it. I kind of love the scene where Buffy crawls out of the demon with the ax in her hand after killing it and scares the Gorch brother off just by glaring at him.

The Gorch Brothers and Harmony — three examples that the vampire can be less evil than the human it was sired in.

Awww, I love Bad Eggs. It's funny (my egg is jewish) and doesn't take the monster at all seriously - I have more problem with episodes like Some Assembly Required or Inca Mummy Girl where the horror story is so emotionally resonant it makes the scooby stuff look shallow in comparison.

The B/A stuff is very much leading into the "we're going to do it" action at the beginning of Suprise but it does get more real when it seems that Angel is going to have to leave or might really be in danger. I suppose a B/A fan (and I'm really not) might see it as them finally finding out what they had when it was gone. My mother once told me she didn't realise she was in love with my Dad until he had to move away from London.
