In the Buffyverse, one tiny blonde girl armed with assorted mediaeval
cutlery and a pointy stick *is* better at defeating the forces of
darkness than the government, the police and the army with all their
guns and high technology. That's the whole idea.
You can either suspend your disbelief, accept that things work
differently in TV-land, and enjoy the show...
...or watch all 144 episodes while grinding your teeth and giving
yourself ulcers, shouting at all the bits that "wouldn't happen that
way in the real world" until you die of apoplexy.

Ah - but which would that be - If he died of apoplexy it would raise the universal IQ, but watching might be less entertaining than a rewatch of Buffy. Hmmm - difficult question.
